ASA Code of Conduct
- I will represent myself, my family, my team, and the ASA organization with dignity and integrity at all times.
- I will play with pride and intensity no matter the circumstances of the game
- I will support my teammates and maintain a positive attitude
- I will be courteous and respectful to opponents, game officials, and tournament officials.
- I will be respectful to my teammates, coaches, and parents.
- I will refrain from any outbursts of anger, temper, or poor sportsmanship.
- I will be properly and appropriately dressed for participation on the field.
- I will be responsible for my own equipment and all ASA equipment.
- I will respect and do no harm to any facilities or fields that I use
- I will absolutely refrain from any involvement with drugs, tobacco, or alcohol.
- I will never direct negative cheers or comments toward the opposing team.
- I will not use vulgar or offensive language or gestures regardless of the circumstance.
- I (and my guest) will conduct myself responsibly at all practices, tournaments, and events.
- I will remember that the game is about the players and not the parents.
- I will be a positive role model at all times and promote good sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy to players, coaches, and other spectators throughout every event.
- I will teach my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflict without resorting to hostility or violence.
- I will demand that my child treat other players, coaches, game officials and spectators with respect at all times.
- I will discourage any behavior or actions that would endanger the health and well being of any player.
- I will not condone the use of drugs, alcohol, or tobacco products by any player at any time.
- I will place the emotional and physical well being of the players ahead of my personal desire to win.
- I will never publicly ridicule or chastise my child, other players, coaches, or game officials.
- I (and my guest) will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any player, coach, game official, parent, or spectators.
- I will refrain from coaching my child, or other players during practices or games.
- I will obtain and maintain clearances through PA West soccer.
- I will treat all players and game officials with respect and fairness.
- I will always promote a sense of fair play and good sportsmanship.
- I will provide training and instruction equitability to all players.
- I will motivate each player to perform at their own maximum skill level.
- I will not condone the use of drugs, tobacco, or alcohol by any player at any time.
- I will make the game about the players at all times, not the adults.
- I will be positive and will promote and practice the ideals of the ASA organization.
- I will not engage in profane, insulting, harassing, or abusive language or behavior.
- I will set a consistent example of self discipline and professionalism.
- I will be fair and consistent in the administration of discipline when appropriate.
- I will place the physical and emotional well being of every player above winning.
- I will maintain an environment of open communication with players and parents.
